Fairy/Pixie workshop - 31st May 2020 from 11am - 2pm
Early bird price ended 31st December 2019
Please note that this workshop is not suitable for beginners. A good understanding of basic bellydance moves and footwork is required for you to enjoy the session.
Sandy will teach you a fairy/pixie themed choreography and the dance will be repeated several times during this workshop to enable you to perform it at the "Dance for Clean Oceans Hafla 2020" on Sunday, 7th June 2019.
Please make sure you are fit to dance, bring water and snacks with you and bear in mind that workshops are different from weekly classes. Learning a whole routine in a few hours is different to learning a choreography during a school term where you have the time to digest the bitesized sections of the whole dance :) But don't fret, it is definitely do-able, but I always like to point out the challenge of a workshop in order to avoid disappointment.
If you like a challenge and have a good grasp of learning a combination of steps, then this workshop is for you. Also note that performing at the Dance for Clean Oceans event is optional, so, no pressure ;)
If you are unsure if this workshop is for you, feel free to contact me via the contact form at the bottom or via the email icon at the top of the page or in person if you take classes with me.
Above all, we are all here to have fun and enjoy the process of learning something new :)
If you are a student with accrued discount, please contact me before making this purchase so I can create an invoice with applied discount for you.
Deposits and full payments are non refundable. By signing up to Sandy Maya's workshops and events you agree that Sandy Maya Matzen is neither responsible nor accepts responsibility for any injuries or accidents sustained during, prior or after these workshops or event. Draft 1 – June 2019
Sandy Maya’s Dance will always conduct risk assessments and will try her best to avoid health and safety hazards to ensure all performers are safe on location of all venues.
However, it is important for all participants to understand that there’s always a possibility of injury and or accidents.
Every student, dancer, performer needs to make it their own responsibility to keep themselves safe. That includes warming up, being rested and well enough to perform, being at the venue on time to familiarise yourself with the surroundings and it is your responsibility to advise Sandy Maya’s Dance if you do not feel the environment is safe for you to dance or perform as soon as you realize for it to be the case. ( i.e.g. but not limited to: performance area, uneven flooring, low ceiling, stage arrangement, steps, temperature too high/low, rain, wet area )
As addition to your Fit to dance form, this declaration needs to be signed before your next performance. Your signature on this form will be valid for any upcoming performances you are undertaking with or organised by Sandy Maya’s Dance. It is your judgement to know whether you are physically and mentally able to participate in any upcoming performances and it is your duty to advise Sandy Maya’s Dance at your earliest knowledge of not being able to attend scheduled events. You need to ensure your own safety when travelling to and from these events.
I understand that it is my responsibility as a dancer/performer to have conducted a dress rehearsal to ensure the outfit causes no obstacle and that my footwear is appropriate for the venue/location.
I, ………………………………, hereby acknowledge and assume all risks and responsibility for any unforeseen accidents and or injuries I may suffer at any upcoming performances and events organised by Sandy Maya’s Dance. ( this form is in addition to the already fit to dance form for classes and workshops )
I voluntarily agree to waive any rights to hold Sandy Maya’s Dance, volunteers, guest artists, co-organisers liable for any caused damage, loss, injury or death.
I understand that I am asked to stay within my physical limitations and that Sandy Maya’s Dance has no expertise to know what that limit is. In case of doubt I should consult a GP to ensure I am fit to dance/perform.
I understand that if I refuse to sign this form I will not be able to attend any future performances with Sandy Maya’s Dance.
I have read and fully understood the waiver declaration and agree to be bound by the above statement.
